This infamous venue is best known for playing host to Sex Pistols, The Who, Fleetwood Mac and The Clash and now those pesky MMonkeys are taking over! For all the info on the night or if you wanna play, check the myspace page here .

Menial Monkey Presents… Halloween Special

After two cracking parties at The Oakford Social Club in Reading we were hardly going to turn down the offer to put on a night there for the 31st October. So, dive past the trick or treaters on your doorstep and join us for night of top drawer live act and some darkly magical dj sets.

Halloween is coming!
Spooky goings on at the oakford
Headlining will be the brilliant James Yuill whose combination of acoustic and electronica was recently described in a review as ‘what can only be described as Nick Drake having been infected by the Chemical Brothers’. His album ‘Turning down Water for Air’ is a beautiful thing and we can’t wait to have him playing for us.. Have a look at his myspace page and you’ll see why this one can’t be missed.

Also live will be local lass Kay Chapman whose set for Ibetya at The Oakford in August (as Special Kay) went down a storm. Kay’s aim ‘is to produce an acoustic sound backed by tribal percussion’ so she’ll be bringing her band and her fantastic voice… see her myspace page for a taster.
We’re still firming up our third act so watch this space for that…on the decks will be the mighty DJ Boskin, a man you will certainly recognise from all our parties so far, but this time putting down the guitar and dusting off his prized vinyl collection. Alongside him, and putting in an exclusive Halloween set, will be that Wheeler boy again…don’t be surprised if he’s still playing when the cleaners turn up at 6.30am, he usually is!
